Alice Ahearn

EMLO Digital Fellow

Alice Ahearn completed her PhD in Classical Languages and Literature at the University of Oxford. Her research compared recent English versions of Ovid’s Heroides for page and stage, exploring how each reflected the translator’s personal and sociopolitical concerns. She was also interested in the poems’ popularity in the Early Modern period—including in private correspondence—and their role in the development of epistolary fiction. Outside work, she is a published creative writer and translator, and enjoys playing folk music and fixing (and riding) bicycles.
